We are living longer, healthier and more productive lives. More and more of us watch what we eat, get more exercise and practice preventative health care. Yet we still pay very little attention to the real quality of the water we cook with and drink.

Just because water looks good and tastes good doesn’t mean it’s good for you.

What starts out clean doesn’t stay that way

Your local government says your water is pure and clean when it leaves the water treatment plant, but that doesn’t mean it arrives at your faucet that way. It’s frequently contaminated by the time it reaches your tap. All it takes is one small break in the aging water distribution infrastructure for contaminants from the soil to seep into your water. Old lead and steel pipes leech metal harmful contaminates as the water passes through. Your tap water can be loaded with undesirables like sulfates, mercury, asbestos and arsenic.

If it kills germs is it safe for you to drink?

Municipalities add chlorine to the drinking water supply to disinfect it and kill harmful bacteria and other microorganisms. That’s because chlorine is toxic; not only to microorganisms, but to humans as well. Chlorine irritates the eyes, nasal passages and the entire respiratory system. Long-term exposure to chlorine may carry the risk of cancer due to the trihalomethanes and other disinfection by-products of chlorination.

Just because the quality of your drinking water meets local minimum standards, doesn’t mean it meets your own standards for safety and taste. No wonder most of us think twice before taking a sip from the tap. Bottled water may seem like the obvious alternative, but it’s expensive and creates waste. It’s not kind to the environment. Sometimes its not even very high-quality water.

There is a better way. You can get easily get cleaner, clearer drinking water right at the kitchen sink with an Aquathin water purification system. It’s the complete water purification system that easily installs right under the sink.
